Letโs get together for a chat ๐ฉโ๐ป๐ป๐จโ๐ป
We have a private room booked at the Old Bakery Studios in Truro with a relaxed cafe/bar style setup for the evening of the 28th July. There will be tea and coffee for you to make yourself, a host to purchase other drinks from, and youโre welcome to bring your own food.
Timings:
5:30pm โ 7pm: Bring or order in your own takeaway/milkshake to have with a side of geeky conversation
7:00pm โ 9:30pm: Geeky conversation
9:30pm โ 10pm: Disperse
Naturallyโฆ you can turn up at any time with a takeaway or not, just drop by and say a quick hi after work, come along for the whole thing or rock up five minutes before the end. Super informal.
Old Bakery Studios is a historic waterfront building at the heart of
Truro, housing a collection of creatives, businesses and event spaces. Itโs a short walk from the bus station and a slightly longer one from the train station. If you can, please use public transport or walk. There is a free car park next to the venue, available on a first come first serve basis in the evening. If thatโs full, there are plenty of options well within strolling distance.
Weโll be using entrance one on the night. Keep an eye out for the Cornwall Geeks Pasty Controller signs.

If youโve never been to a meetup before, Cornwall Geeks or otherwise, youโll be greeted with open arms*. Weโre a friendly bunch. Whilst we donโt have a formal code of conduct, we do have a commitment to creating a welcoming environment for anyone who comes along, regardless of any differences. Weโll happily ask anyone who isnโt respectful of that ethos to leave.
For those whoโve attended before, youโll note the switch in venue. Weโre trying this one on for size for various reasons. Head to #cornwall-geeks-dev in the slack group for more behind-the-scenes fun and to add your input to the next gathering. If that means nothing to you, ask someone on the night.
*figuratively speaking, of course.
