Our Makers Workshops series celebrate the heritage within our building. Each workshop will explore a different material present in our historic theatre building, City Hall. From oak and terrazzo, granite, and ceramics to fresh florals, we use our building as our canvas.
This month’s workshop focuses on terrazzo, a hard-wearing material with origins in Italy. Historically used as a hard-wearing poured mix of offcuts, terrazzo can be seen in Hall for Cornwall’s Playhouse Bar floor as a remnant of the flooring used when the building was a cinema in the early 20th Century.
MATERIALS is made possible thanks to a generous award from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Other makers running workshops at Hall for Cornwall during our workshop season include Wild Rose Cornwall, Starglazers, Sarah Drew, City of Lights and Wild Sea Calligraphy.
All materials provided and no prior experience necessary. Workshops are hosted in a friendly, inclusive and accessible location within Hall for Cornwall. Over 18s only.
