Argum Cottage

Argum Cottage is a 1-bedroom king-size cottage in Hersham, a quiet hamlet in northeast Cornwall sitting around 1.5 miles south of Kilkhampton and a short drive from Bude. The cottage sleeps 2 and has a private patio at the front - south-facing enough to be a reliable sun trap - with a BBQ for evening meals.

Inside, the cottage has an open-plan layout with kitchen, electric oven, hob and microwave. There is no washing machine on site. Wifi and parking are included, and dogs are welcome.

Summerleaze Beach in Bude is around 3.3 miles away - the town's main beach, with a tidal sea pool and RNLI lifeguard cover in summer. Crooklets Beach, Bude's main surf beach, is roughly the same distance. Bude also has independent shops, cafes, and the 19th-century canal for flat-water kayaking. The South West Coast Path passes through Bude and heads north along the Hartland Heritage Coast toward Morwenstow. Tamar Lakes, good for walking and watersports, is within a short drive inland.

Best for: couples wanting a quiet rural base with Bude's beaches and amenities a short drive away, dog owners who prefer the countryside over a beach-front setting. Less good for: those wanting to walk to the beach (it's a drive), guests needing a washing machine, or groups larger than 2.
