Cornwall Holiday’s 5 Star Guide
We all need a treat sometimes as well as something to look forward to. Cornwall is a fantastic place to visit if you want to experience some luxury. There are places with incredible views, great facilities and stunning decoration as well as some fab extras. We have selected some luxury properties for you so you don’t have to do anything but relax and read our guide.
This charming house built in 1839 sits at the top of Boscastle and enjoys panoramic views over the small town and out to the harbour. You can walk down to the harbour and be there in just 15 minutes. Boscastle is famous for its harbour and small village. There are some lovely places to eat in and around Boscastle and some quirky things to explore such as the witch museum right down by the famous harbour.
The spacious rooms are very tastefully decorated and you are provided with tea and coffee in each room. There are private luxury bathrooms and free toiletries as standard. Flat screen TV, hairdryers, free wifi and refreshment trays as well as a fridge are all provided in the rooms. Breakfast is continental so fruit, croissants, cereals, fruit juices and tea/coffee. The North coast is a great location to be able to explore so much including Tintagel, Padstow and Newquay. This would be best for couples who want something quieter with luxury.
Pentillie Castle and Estate
This luxurious resort sits on the banks of the River Tamar and is surrounded by Golf courses. The estate is set in woodlands too which you are welcome to explore on your stay. Pentillie is right on the border of Devon and Cornwall so you are well positioned to be able to explore both counties from this location. Plymouth is next to Saltash and is a vibrant city filled with shops and restaurants as well as theatres.
Pentillie is family run and families are welcome here and it is even pet friendly too so you can bring your furry friends with you. There is an outdoor swimming pool which is heated by solar panels. There is also a games room inside the hotel and an open fire in the classically decorated estate house. Each room has en-suite facilities and free toiletries as you would expect in the luxurious estate. A fantastic place for a family break whatever the weather.
The Norway Inn
The Norway Inn, in between Truro and Falmouth is very popular with locals and tourists. The food is a real draw. Fresh local produce is used to create fresh dishes including lamb, fish, game and duck. The restaurant is very popular die to the standard of the food so make sure you book in before you come. You can enjoy a fresh full English breakfast too as well as a fantastic Sunday lunch.
The rooms are finished to a high standard and tastefully decorated. They include flat screen TV ‘s and en-suite facilities. There is free parking and wifi too. The location is fantastic to be able to explore Falmouth and the fabulous South Coast offering water sports, boat rides, restaurants and bars. Truro is also close where you can shop all day and enjoy a lively nightlife. This is a great location for couples or friends.
The Stargazy Inn
With incredible sea views this delightful Inn is a fantastic place for a romantic getaway. The location of Port Isaac is probably one of the best you can get if fine dining is your thing. Just up the coast from Padstow and Rock which boast their own fine dining culture, there are multiple places in Port Isaac to get your fix of amazing Cornish food. You are just a stones throw away from the water and 5 minute walk from the beaches in Port Isaac and Port Gaverne. Soak up the Cornish vibe in this beautiful village made famous by the filming of popular TV series Doc Martin. The bedrooms at the Stargazy are luxury all the way. They are spacious and designed to a high spec. They all feature a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Free wifi and parking are also standard. You can also dine and drink at the bar and restaurant on the premises too. An added little bonus here is that the Stargazy is pet friendly so its a fantastic location for dog walking as you are right near the coastal path.
This award winning stunning house in Mevagissey is a real treat. The adults only haven that they have created at Pebble House has panoramic views and the sea view rooms have floor to ceiling windows. The rooms in this luxury bed and breakfast are decorated to the highest standard and all include some amazing extras such as goose feather and down duvets and luxury Egyptian cotton linen. The contemporary en-suite bathrooms include luxury bathrobes, Molton Brown toiletries and underfloor heating.
The breakfast at Pebble House is award winning and you can expect locally sourced fresh produce to feast on at the breakfast table. The South Coast is a popular place to stay due to its beaches and harbours. There are gorgeous towns such as Mevagissey and Fowey and you are near some fantastic attractions such as The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. Pendragon Country House
This gorgeous country house is a few miles away from the town of Camelford and features 7 luxury rooms. Each room is en-suite and has complimentary robes and toiletries as well as antique furniture, flat screen TV, DVD player and tea and making facilities. There is also an on site restaurant where you can get a fantastic breakfast and also dine of an evening. The country house also has a games room and a pool table where you can relax.
The location in the parish of Davidstow. Davidstow is a small hamlet made famous by the cheddar cheese creamery which produces cheese under the Davidstow brand and also it is the home of the popular Cathedral City Brand. The area in the North of Cornwall where this country house is based is a great position to explore the beautiful beaches and coastal paths as well as places such as Tintagel, Padstow and Boscastle. A quiet retreat that would be perfect for a luxury getaway.
Ancapri is a 5 star bed and breakfast in the vibrant coastal town of Falmouth. Ancapri has phenomenal views across the Blue Flag beach of Gyllyngvase. There is a terrace for you to enjoy the views and have a glass of wine. The beach is outstanding and has a cafe as well as water sports and all of this is right on your doorstep. Falmouth is packed full of unique shops, restaurants and bars for everyone to enjoy. This town is great for couples or families.
This AA 5-star bed & breakfast offers en suite rooms, lounge area, licensed bar, sun terrace and free parking and wifi. Each room is decorated to a high standard and has a luxury feel to it. Most have sea views too but probably better to request one if you want those amazing views. This luxury bed and breakfast is situated between Looe and Polperro and each unit has its own lounge area and kitchen. The decoration and standard of these units are unique and a great mix of the traditional farm that the units are built on and luxury furniture. There are stunning views across the countryside and lakes. The farm is working so on your doorstep you will see animals such as sheep and geese. This bed and breakfast is a fantastic place to relax and get back to nature in a beautiful environment.
Of course all units have an en-suite and flat screen TV’s and the accommodation is pet friendly so your 4 legged friend can enjoy this fantastic farm too. The location is fantastic for exploring the coast too. Looe and Polperro are both beautiful seaside resorts and you are not far from either of them here. Breakfast is available at Trenderway Farm too, and then you have the choice of eating at one of the local pubs or restaurants or preparing your own food in your kitchen area. So a flexible place to stay with many options. Trenderway Farm really is a hidden gem, we highly recommend it for a wonderful Cornish escape.
This fantastic 2 bedroom apartment sits in Carlyon Bay near St Austell. The views from the apartment are incredible over the bay and beyond and there are French doors opening out onto this. There is an open plan lounge, kitchen and dining room and you will find everything that you need in the apartment. The kitchen has a tumble dryer and a washing machine. There is an outside terrace where you can sit and eat or enjoy a glass of wine.
This is a fantastic apartment for families as you have the space to put the kids to bed and have some adult time in the lounge and dining area. You have the flexibility to eat in and prepare your own food or eat in one of the many local restaurants and bars. The Eden Project is not too far away as is The Lost Gardens of Heligan, great days out in Cornwall. The South coast is a fantastic place to visit seaside towns, and enjoy all the activities available such as walking, cycling and water sports.
Camilla House is a 5 star bed and breakfast in Penzance, which is the last main town before Land’s End. The town itself has a fabulous harbour and is right near St Michael’s Mount. You can visit Land’s End and the Minack Theatre too with a short drive. Some of the most popular Cornish beaches are near Penzance too, so plenty to do in the West of the county.
All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities and because they have been recently refurbished are decorated in a very tasteful way. Breakfast is included with some tariffs and the breakfast here is also a high standard. Camilla House is a short walk from the shops in Penzance and the Jubilee swimming pool which is very popular. This would again be a fantastic place for couples who want to explore the West of Cornwall.
