Nursery Lodge, 5 Horizon View, Liskeard
This fantastic Lodge is in the remote village of Dobwalls between Bodmin Moor and Liskeard. Ideal if you want to get away from the fast-paced city. Although there are other lodges on the grounds you have your own private area and outside space. There is an outdoor dining area and even a hot tub in this 5-star luxury escape.
The lodge itself is very well presented and has 2 bedrooms, meaning it can sleep up to 4 people. There is an en-suite and a family bathroom. There are also facilities like baby cribs available if you require them. The living space is an open plan and the kitchen has everything you will need including a dishwasher and cooking facilities. There is also free parking and WIFI as standard.
Dobwalls is quite centrally located in Cornwall as it is near the moor and the A30 which gives you easy access right through the centre of Cornwall all the way down to Penzance. You can, therefore, plan your days either enjoying your immediate surroundings or traveling to enjoy some of the most popular attractions such as Eden Project which is 20 minutes away, or the Lost Gardens of Heligan which is around 30 minutes away. The surrounding moors make for fantastic places to hike or cycle so there is plenty to do or you can chill on the deck and in the hot tub. We recommend this place for a secluded getaway for you and your family.
The Engine House, Truro
This stunning complex of converted buildings is packed with gorgeous character. With amazing views of the river and only 2 miles away from the ocean, this gives you a real countryside feel when you stay. Each of the houses gives you 2 bedrooms and can sleep up to 4. The house features gorgeous beams and flawless decoration which you will definitely love.
Free parking and wifi come as standard here. The kitchen is equipped with everything that you will need for your self-catering Cornish countryside stay. Beach days are just a short drive away. You are also close to the city of Truro, the capital of Cornwall which features many shops, restaurants, and its famous Cathedral which dominates the skyline throughout the city.
The river offers boat trips but if you want to explore water sports then check out the nearest beaches and see what they offer as all are different. I recommend The Engine for those seeking a Cornish retreat and if you want to relax in peace.
Polgwedhen Lodge, Truro
Rustic and secluded, this lodge is set in an amazing country lake and is the only lodge on the property. You are literally on your own in this magical location. There is a farmhouse nearby but it does not overlook the lodge so you really can relax in your private lake-view lodge.
Free wifi and free parking are included so you are not totally in the wilderness. The lodge has a kitchen with an oven, microwave, and fridge and a separate bedroom with en-suite. Although secluded, this beautiful lodge is only 4 miles away from the city of Truro, the capital of Cornwall. You are also only 5 minutes away from St Agnes which has gorgeous beaches.
Right on your doorstep, you have hiking, cycling, fishing, beach, and water sports of all descriptions. The city is not too far with a huge variety of restaurants and bars as well a whole host of takeaway restaurants for you to enjoy in your private lakeside lodge, or stock up at the Tesco store and have your own BBQ using the BBQ facilities on site. I would recommend this for couples or small families if you want that feeling of total seclusion but also to have some of the best of Cornwall on your doorstep.
Thatchings Cottage, Bude
This gorgeous 3-bedroom cottage is a real Cornish dream. Thatchings near Bude has 3 bedrooms and can sleep up to 7 people. There is a private garden to enjoy and parking for 2 cars right on the property. This place has it all including real curb appeal with its white picket fence. This is a great property to rent if you want to get away from it all and have some privacy. It is not in a town but does have amenities close by.
Inside the cottage, you will find 3 bedrooms and the capacity to sleep 7. The house is decorated and presented as you would imagine with gorgeous wooden beams and a cosy burner in the sitting room. The dining and kitchen area is open-planned. The kitchen has everything that you will need during your stay including a washing machine and dishwasher. The garden has seating and a dining area too, so just bring yourselves. This property is dog-friendly too so the whole family is welcome. Free wifi is also standard here.
The surrounding area is great for walking or cycling. The coast is not far if you want to visit the beach during your stay. There are many different attractions in Cornwall that you can drive to such as the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The beaches are the biggest draw though and near this property. You can sign up for water sports such as surfing and windsurfing. There is a selection of supermarkets in Bude and something to consider would be to order delivery before you arrive to get there when you do. This is the perfect secluded little cottage in Cornwall.
Scandi Cabin on a Hill, Ludgvan
This secluded little cabin offers stunning panoramic views of the rolling Cornish Countryside. Set in the small village of Ludgvan, you will benefit from the quiet atmosphere and take in the relaxed Cornish way of life. It is only 3 miles away from Penzance so not far to go get essential shopping or have an explore of the beautiful coastline. The cabin itself has an outside terrace and patio area with views over the countryside.
The inside of the cabin has a lounge area with a log burner for those cooler cozy Cornish evenings. There is 1 bedroom but there is a sofa bed in the lounge. The kitchen has everything you need from a coffee machine to a dishwasher and cooking facilities. There is free wifi and parking here too. A great place for a couples retreat or for a small family to relax in this peaceful setting.
Brilliantly positioned between Penzance and St Ives you have so much on your doorstep here. The cabin itself is set in the beautiful countryside. You can walk or cycle here as much as you want. A short car journey will bring you to the popular and gorgeous seaside town of St Ives where you can enjoy a variety of activities from swimming to surfing to fishing. Penzance is not too far away either and neither is Land’s End just 10 miles. The Minack Theatre is also just 10 miles away. I highly recommend checking this out either during the day or for a show in the evening. I would highly recommend this little haven for couples and small families.
