Description
This 18-mile multipurpose route is asphalt, mostly traffic-free, and fairly level. It runs along a former railway line between Wenfordbridge, Bodmin, Wadebridge, and Padstow, offering access to the picturesque Cornish landscape. The walk offers stunning views of the Camel Estuary, which is located inside an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is safe for families and easy for people with limited mobility.
The quietest section of the trail, which progressively climbs towards the edge of Bodmin Moor, is the route up to Wenforbridge from Bodmin. However, the busiest stretch is the five or six kilometers from Wadebridge to Padstow. Wildlife, particularly wading birds, adore this stretch of large river. For birdwatchers, there is a hide along the way.
