Charlestown Harbour was constructed between 1799 and 1800 by Charles Rashleigh, whose name the village proudly bears. Once a thriving hub for the export of copper and china clay, remnants of its maritime past remain — including the original shutes on the eastern wall once used for loading cargo. Today, the harbour is a captivating place to wander, with charming cafes and pubs nearby, including The Rashleigh Arms, conveniently located just behind The Old Smoke House.

Inside, the property combines character with comfort. The well-equipped kitchen includes modern appliances, featuring an electric oven, electric ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and a breakfast bar seating four. The bright and airy living area features a plush sofa, an armchair, television with DVD player, and large patio doors that let in an abundance of natural light, framing the glistening harbour view - just the spot for your morning coffee!

Upstairs, exposed beams add rustic charm to the king-size master bedroom and cosy twin room, complemented by a contemporary family shower room. A washing machine and tumble dryer are also provided for added convenience.

Step through the patio doors to a delightful garden with outdoor seating and breathtaking sea views, the perfect place to soak up the Cornish sunshine with a scoop of award-winning ice cream from Tall Ships Creamery just around the corner.

Charlestown is ideally situated on Cornwall’s stunning south coast, with beautiful nearby beaches such as Carlyon Bay and Caerhays. It’s the perfect base for couples or families seeking a memorable coastal getaway, with world-renowned attractions like The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan just a short drive away. You also have supermarkets such as Tesco and Asda nearby.

The harbour town of Charlestown is within walking distance with its tall ships, antiques, independent shops and great restaurants such as The Longstore, as well as many other cafés and bars.

The world-famous Eden Project in Cornwall is a great day out for the whole family. Explore the largest indoor rainforest in the world, head over to England’s longest and fastest zip wire and enjoy special events throughout the year.

Take time to recharge at Pinetum Gardens; a place of tranquillity and peace. This 30-acre paradise is perfect in all seasons and is home to one of the most extensive plant collections in Britain. After exploring the multiple gardens, sit back and relax in their outdoor tea room.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan is one of the most curious estates in England. Once lost, this paradise was re-awakened in 1990. Spend a day exploring Europe’s largest garden restoration and lose yourself in a world of romance, heritage and adventure.

Don’t forget your bucket and spade as close by you’ll find both Charlestown Beach and Pentewan Beach. Both are ideal for a relaxing day by the sea.

Take a trip to St. Austell Brewery Visitors Centre to experience the history of one of the oldest breweries in the U.K., founded in 1851 by Walter Hicks. It provides an in-depth view on the growth of the brewery and you can enjoy a Tasting Experience as part of the Tour and/or have lunch at Hicks Bar within the Visitors Centre.
