Trevone

Beach village with rock pool near Padstow

Trevone sits on the north Cornwall coast about 2 miles west of Padstow, centred on a sandy cove that dries out at low tide to reveal a broad stretch of firm sand. The village’s main draw is the round pool - a natural rock pool carved into the cliff platform at the southern end of the beach, deep enough for swimming at most states of the tide. The beach itself faces north and picks up reasonable surf on bigger swells, though it’s more sheltered than nearby Harlyn Bay or Constantine.

The coast path runs directly through Trevone, connecting east to Padstow (about 45 minutes on foot) and west through Harlyn Bay toward Constantine and Trevose Head. The headlands on either side of the bay are worth the short walk for views along the coast. The village has a small shop and a pub - the Well Parc Hotel - but for more choice, Padstow’s restaurants and harbour are a short drive or a pleasant coastal walk away.

Holiday properties in Trevone are mostly converted cottages and bungalows within walking distance of the beach. The village is quieter and more affordable than Padstow itself, making it a practical base for families who want easy beach access without the crowds of the bigger resort towns. Harlyn Bay is less than a mile west, and the Camel Estuary ferry to Rock runs from Padstow harbour throughout the day.
