Screech Owl Sanctuary sits on the edge of Goss Moor Nature Reserve in mid-Cornwall, just off the A30 near Indian Queens. The sanctuary is home to one of the largest collections of owls in the South West - more than 60 birds spanning 33 species from around the world. Barn owls, eagle owls, snowy owls, and tiny scops owls are all represented.
Twice-daily flying displays are included in the admission price, with birds of prey swooping over visitors’ heads. Separate educational talk and feed sessions cover owl biology, conservation, and the sanctuary’s rescue work. A hands-on area lets visitors stroke tame owls, and one-to-one handling sessions and falconry experiences can be booked in advance for a closer encounter.
Beyond the owls, the animal park houses 18 other species including wallabies, raccoons, lemurs, emus, storks, and a resident fox. A play park, nature trail, tea room, and gift shop round out the visit. Pre-booking is not required for general admission.
