Closer to home, you can join the Saints’ Way, an ancient trail passing 100 metres from your door, following the river estuary 2 miles north to Padstow and 22 miles south to Fowey — it’s a super route for spotting wildlife. And, if you’re seeking an indoor pursuit, there’s a climbing centre 2 miles south.

Accessed past the ivy-clad cottage’s white picket fence and veranda, and up a step, the front door leads straight into an open-plan living/dining/kitchen area. The kitchen — with its fun, retro vibe, bold design and farmhouse-style range cooker — encompasses the back wall, and is separated from the lounge area by a two-person dining set. A double bedroom makes clever use of its space, with coat hooks, a hanging rail and bedside cupboards for storage. And the property’s shower room features a wooden vanity unit.

Tucked behind the house is a patio area furnished with a wooden bench table and chairs; use the BBQ to cook on coals, as you enjoy the peace and quiet of this charming rural location together. Please note: there are some steps in the garden.
