Goldenbank

Goldenbank

Goldenbank is a residential area on the southern outskirts of Falmouth, set in the Maen Valley between Swanpool and Maenporth. The area sits within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with Falmouth Golf Club occupying the headland above Falmouth Bay and much of the surrounding coastline managed by the National Trust.

Swanpool beach and nature reserve are within walking distance - around 10 minutes on foot. Swanpool offers safe swimming, a water sports centre and a beachside cafe. From there, the South West Coast Path runs northeast to Gyllyngvase beach and into Falmouth town, or southwest to Maenporth, another sheltered sandy beach with its own cafe and kayak hire. The nearest railway station is Penmere, roughly 0.7 miles away, with regular services along the Maritime Line to Truro.

Falmouth town centre is just over a mile north, with the National Maritime Museum, Pendennis Castle and a strong independent food and drink scene. The subtropical gardens at Trebah and Glendurgan - both National Trust properties on the Helford River - are a short drive south. Penjerrick Garden, one of Cornwall’s wildest subtropical gardens, is even closer. Goldenbank’s position gives visitors a quieter alternative to staying in central Falmouth while keeping beaches, restaurants and cultural attractions within easy reach on foot or by bus.
