Hall for Cornwall is the largest performance venue in the county, located on Back Quay in the centre of Truro. A 26 million pound refurbishment between 2018 and 2021 transformed the building, replacing the original auditorium with The Cornwall Playhouse - a 1,354-seat space with circle and balcony levels, up from the previous 965-seat capacity. The venue reopened in October 2021.
The programme runs year-round with more than 300 performances annually. Touring West End musicals, drama, opera and ballet share the calendar with stand-up comedy, live music, spoken word and family shows. The venue also hosts community and youth productions, and its programming increasingly features Cornish language and culture alongside national touring work.
