Polruan is an ancient fishing village famous for its boat building heritage. Perfectly positioned on the Fowey river estuary, which is a thriving centre for fishing, seafaring, shipbuilding and agriculture. This remoteness gives the area an unspoilt charm with its narrow streets and alleyways where flights of slate steps twist between the houses. There are two village pubs and a passenger ferry that will take you across to Fowey. Further afield there are plenty of places to visit and things to do, why not visit the tall ships at Charlestown, take the brewery tour in St Austell or visit the Eden project and/or the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
