Chapel Cottage

Chapel Cottage is a two-bedroom cottage in the centre of St Mawgan, once part of the original village forge. It sleeps four and sits in the Vale of Mawgan, about two miles inland from the north coast. Dogs are welcome, and an open fire takes the chill off shoulder-season evenings.

Inside, the cottage keeps its traditional character alongside a modern kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. There is WiFi throughout and the layout is accessible on one level. Two bedrooms and a single bathroom serve up to four guests, with a Friday changeover.

Outside there is off-street parking and a garden. The village store, post office, tea room and the Falcon Inn are all within a five-minute walk, and the Japanese garden at Lanherne Convent sits a short stroll down the lane. Mawgan Porth, the nearest sandy beach, is roughly two miles by road; Watergate Bay, Padstow and Newquay are all within a short drive.

The Vale of Mawgan is one of the most sheltered microclimates in north Cornwall, noticeably milder than the exposed cliffs a few miles north. That makes St Mawgan a practical base for walkers heading out along the valley paths to the sea, or for families splitting time between the village and the coast.
