cottage in looe
Three-bedroom cottage in Looe, sleeps 6, dog-friendly, steps from East Looe Beach.
Tucked away in the quaint streets of East Looe, this former fisherman’s cottage offers a cosy and relaxing family base, a stone’s throw from the beach and harbour of this popular seaside town. Still a working fishing port, Looe Harbour is a hive of activity, whether you want to watch the fishing boats haul in their catch, hop on boat for a sea safari or fishing trip, or try your luck at crabbing. The abundance of fresh fish means you’ll eat well here, from fish and chip shops to gourmet restaurants – don’t worry, there are lots of wonderful walking routes so you can work off all that food, including the South West Coast Path which passes through town. The gently shelving beach is great for swimming, with rock pools to explore at low tide, and nature lovers can catch a boat to Looe Island, an offshore nature reserve with rare plants and fascinating marine life.
Arranged over three floors, this charming cottage is filled with character and tastefully presented throughout. A short flight of granite steps leads up to the front door and into the light and bright living room with its beamed ceiling, feature stone wall with a wood burner-effect gas fire, and comfortable sofas arranged around the TV. This floor is also home to the family bathroom. Stairs lead down to the lower ground floor with its open-plan kitchen/diner, again set beneath a beamed ceiling with cosy window seats, a well-equipped kitchen, and a family dining table. Heading up from the ground floor, you’ll find three cosy bedrooms with feature stone walls: one super-king room, one king room, and one twin with 2 single beds.
While the property doesn’t have any outside space, the beach and harbour are just metres from the front door.
