Bray Shop
Bray Shop is a rural hamlet in East Cornwall, located on the B3257 about three miles north-west of the market town of Callington. It sits within the civil parishes of Linkinhorne, Stoke Climsland and South Hill, surrounded by open farmland and rolling countryside.
The hamlet lies roughly three miles south-east of Coads Green, which has a primary school, village hall, church and playing field. Twelve Men’s Moor spreads out to the north, offering open moorland walking and riding. Launceston is about eight miles away along the A30, providing a wider range of shops and services.
Bray Shop works well as a base for visitors who want to explore the quieter parts of East Cornwall. Bodmin Moor is within easy reach to the west, while the historic city of Plymouth sits about 15 miles to the south-east across the Tamar. The surrounding landscape is a mix of pasture, woodland and moorland edge - typical of this less-visited corner of the county. Kit Hill, a former mining site now managed by Cornwall Council, rises to 1,096 feet about 3 miles to the south and gives panoramic views across Dartmoor and the Tamar Valley on clear days. The Tamar Valley itself is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with waymarked trails through old mine workings and riverside woodland.
