Edmonton

North Cornwall hamlet between Wadebridge and the Camel Estuary

Trevedmond

Edmonton is a small hamlet about 2 miles north of Wadebridge in north Cornwall, at a road junction on the edge of the Camel estuary area. The name is a common Cornish place name element meaning “tun” (farm) on the edge of - in this case on the road north from Wadebridge toward Rock, Polzeath, and Port Isaac. The hamlet has no significant facilities; Wadebridge, about 2 miles south, is the local service centre with supermarkets, shops, and the Camel Trail.

The Camel estuary is about 1.5 miles north, with the sandy beaches of Rock and Trebetherick a further 3 miles. The Camel Trail cycle path runs through Wadebridge and provides a flat off-road route to Padstow (6 miles west) and Bodmin (6 miles east). Wadebridge itself has a range of independent shops, cafes, and the Royal Cornwall Showground nearby.

Holiday accommodation near Edmonton is primarily in farm conversions and rural cottages positioned conveniently between Wadebridge’s amenities and the north coast beaches. Properties here typically offer better value than equivalent accommodation at Rock or Polzeath.
