200-year-old stone cottage near Wadebridge, Camel Trail access

A two-bedroom stone cottage in Edmonton, a hamlet 2 miles north of Wadebridge in north Cornwall. Around 200 years old and built from local stone, it has been updated with contemporary furnishings while keeping the original character. Sleeps four. Rated 4.3 out of 5 from 17 reviews.

Inside, the cottage has a double bedroom and a twin zip-and-link that converts to a super-king on request. One bathroom. The wood burner in the sitting room is the reason many guests book for autumn and winter breaks. Dishwasher, washing machine, and WiFi are all included. A courtyard to the front and a shared lawn to the rear provide outdoor space. Dogs are welcome.

The Camel Trail cycle path runs through Wadebridge and gives off-road access to Padstow, 6 miles west, or Bodmin, 6 miles east. Wadebridge itself has supermarkets and independent shops 2 miles south. Daymer Bay Beach, the sheltered estuary beach near Trebetherick, is about 4 miles. The Rock water taxi to Padstow adds a useful day-trip option without driving.

Best for couples or families who want a rural base with quick access to the Camel estuary beaches and trail, particularly good value compared to equivalent cottages at Rock or Polzeath. Less suited to guests who want a sea-view property or walking distance to the beach.
