Owl House

Owl House is a converted stable in the hamlet of Treneague near Edmonton, sleeping 2 in a single ground-floor bedroom with a 5ft king-size bed. The house sits within the grounds of a 17th-century cottage and is not overlooked, which is rare for self-catering accommodation this close to Wadebridge.

The layout is entirely open-plan: kitchen, dining area, and sitting room flow together with a wood-burning stove and open fire as the centrepiece. A wide sliding door connects the bedroom to the living space. The wet room has a large walk-in shower. Dogs are welcome. WiFi, parking and a dishwasher are included.

French windows open onto a private terrace and lawn with fig trees, yuccas, and dry-stone walling. Wadebridge is about 2 miles south - the Camel Trail starts there for a flat off-road cycle to Padstow. Daymer Bay beach is 5.4 miles, Polzeath 6 miles.

Best for couples or solo travellers wanting a genuinely quiet rural base with easy access to both the north coast beaches and Wadebridge's shops. Less good for anyone needing more than one bedroom, or for families with young children given the open sliding-door bedroom layout. Wadebridge covers groceries and the Camel Trail if you want a longer outing.
