A popular holiday location split into east and west by the river that runs through it, Looe is home to narrow streets, beautiful beaches and the world’s first banjo-shaped harbour wall. The history of Looe as a trading and fishing port can be traced to pre-medieval times; today its fleet consists of vessels ranging from trawlers to mackerel line boats, all sharing the water with privately-owned leisure boats and dinghies. The cafes, pubs and restaurants that line the quayside are a perfect spot for people-watching, while those with an interest in wildlife will enjoy a boat trip to the marine nature reserve of St George’s Island (also known as Looe Island) a mile offshore. Take the ferry from East to quieter West Looe (or cross the bridge just upriver) and you can explore the fascinating rock pools of Hannafore Beach. There’s more to discover with a walk along the South West Coast Path, or you could let the train take the strain and travel the scenic Looe Valley Line to Liskeard, on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor.

A superb seafront setting by the long sandy beach in East Looe never fails to impress, but this family-friendly property has much to commend it inside too, including a beautiful blend of original features, contemporary furnishings and a neutral colour scheme. On the ground floor, an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner confirms that this is a holiday home with together-time as its focus. A hand-crafted kitchen and large leather L-shaped sofa vie for attention with the ornamental stone fireplace and colourful slate flooring, while a Smart TV will entertain after a busy day of sightseeing. On the first floor, you’ll find a light, bright room with pretty bunk beds, Smart TV and DVD and, close by, a spacious family bathroom. On the second floor, a double bedroom complete with a Smart TV, DVD and Juliet balcony leads into the third bedroom, which has a single bed. With beds ideal for a maximum of four adults or a family of five including infants, each of the comfortable bedrooms enjoys dramatic views.

While there is no outside space here, the beach is less than 200 metres away – and it’s gorgeous!
