Cottage Pie

Cottage Pie is a fisherman's cottage spread over three floors in the narrow streets of East Looe. It sleeps 5 across 3 bedrooms and is suited to up to 3 adults and 2 children, as the ground-floor living area is compact.

The cottage has a modern interior behind its traditional exterior. Three floors give the rooms a vertical layout typical of old harbourside properties. Private parking is available close to the cottage. Changeovers are on Saturdays.

East Looe Beach is just 100 metres away - essentially on the doorstep. Hannafore Beach on the West Looe side, known for some of Cornwall's best rock pools, is 0.6 miles. Plaidy Beach, a quieter mixed sand-and-shingle cove, is 0.7 miles east along the coast path. The working harbour, where fishing boats land their catch daily, is a short walk from the front door.

Looe itself is split into East and West, joined by a Victorian bridge across the river estuary. The town has independent shops, galleries, and fish restaurants along the narrow streets. Looe Island, a Cornwall Wildlife Trust nature reserve, sits just offshore with boat trips running in summer. The coast path west leads to Polperro, and the scenic Looe Valley branch line connects to mainline services at Liskeard.

Best for a family of up to 3 adults and 2 children wanting to walk to East Looe Beach in minutes. Less good for a full group of 5 adults - the ground-floor living area is compact for that many people at once.
