Emma and Simon's hideaway Retreat

A dog-friendly cottage within Polperro Holiday Park on Cornwall's south coast, run by hosts Emma and Simon. The property sits above the fishing village of Polperro - known in Cornish as Porthpyra - where cars are banned from the inner village and narrow lanes lead down to a working harbour.

The cottage has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room with sofa bed and work desk. A fully equipped kitchen covers self-catering, and the private entrance gives the place its own feel despite being part of a wider park. WiFi is included throughout.

Outside, guests have access to a garden with patio seating and a heated pool - a genuine draw for families. Free private parking is on site, removing the hassle of finding a space in Polperro itself where the main car park at Crumplehorn fills quickly in summer.

The South West Coast Path runs through Polperro, with the 5-mile section to Looe via Talland Bay taking around 3 hours. The Heritage Museum of Smuggling and Fishing overlooks the harbour, and about 13 registered fishing boats still operate from the quay. Lekerock Cove Beach is 2.7 km away.
