Crabbers Rest

Crabbers Rest is a two-bedroom, three-storey cottage for 2 in the centre of Polperro, a two-minute walk from the tidal harbour where fishing boats still land mackerel and crab. The property has been renovated throughout while retaining beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls, and the original log-burning stove.

The layout enters at first-floor level through a side door into an open-plan living and kitchen room with log burner and smart TV. The kitchen is fitted with electric hob, oven, dishwasher, and washer-dryer. A twin bedroom - 3ft single beds that zip to a super-king - and a family bathroom sit on the first floor. The double bedroom with en-suite shower occupies the top floor. No private outdoor space, but a dedicated parking space is included - a real advantage given the restrictions in Polperro's village centre.

Up to two small or medium dogs are welcome at an additional charge. Polperro's pubs, restaurants, and the Heritage Museum of Smuggling and Fishing are all within a two-minute walk. The tidal inner harbour and the cliffside Blue Peter Inn are close at hand.

The South West Coast Path runs east to Talland Bay and west to Lansallos directly from the village. Looe is 4 miles for the scenic Looe Valley Line railway. The Eden Project is 21 miles, Fowey via the Bodinnick car ferry is 8.5 miles, and Port Isaac sits 32 miles north.

**Best for:** couples wanting a village-centre base with genuine character - flagstones, beams, and log fire within walking distance of the harbour. **Less good for:** anyone needing outdoor space, or who can't manage a multi-storey layout (no lift).
