Breakers

Breakers is an 18th-century fisherman's cottage in Polperro, sleeping four across two bedrooms. The property sits on a traffic-free lane close to the harbour, with sea views from every room. Changeover is on Saturday, with check-in from 4pm and check-out by 10am.

Inside, two bedrooms share two bathrooms. The renovation retains original features alongside a new kitchen, new bathrooms, and new heating. Wi-Fi, a dishwasher, and a washing machine are included.

Polperro is a traditional fishing harbour with narrow lanes running down to the quay, a working fleet, and a cluster of pubs, cafes, and small galleries. The beach sits at the harbour mouth with rocks and sand. The South West Coast Path runs through Polperro: Fowey lies 6 miles west and Looe is 6 miles east. Parking is at the main village car park, a five-minute walk away - Polperro's centre is pedestrianised.

Talland Bay is one mile east along the coast path - a sheltered sandy cove with a seasonal beach cafe. The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are both within a 45-minute drive. Best for couples or small families wanting a period cottage with sea views in a car-free harbour setting. Less good for guests who need vehicle access close to the door.
