The Tate St Ives perches right beside Porthmeor Beach, so you can take in some of that famous art scene and then step out onto the sand, or if you fancy a walk you'll have many great coast paths to choose from including the 1.9km route to Carbis Bay. Further afield but easily reached by car lie the villages / towns of Lelant, Hayle and Gwithian, each with their own great atmospheres and fantastic sandy beaches.
