Soak up the Cornish sunshine and savour the sea air out in the garden. Dine at the picnic bench as you enjoy the excellent sea views.
A stylish apartment right on the North Cornwall coast, this Port Isaac retreat captures views right out over the Atlantic. Sleeping five guests, the two-bedroom holiday home sits on the first floor of an Edwardian villa less than 0.5 miles from the picture-postcard cove. Take the children here to go paddling or rockpooling. Venture 7.5 miles to the sandy stretches of Polzeath Bay to swim in the sea or enjoy the surf. Delightful Port Isaac, where long-running ITV series Doc Martin was filmed, is also a fabulous place for picking up the scenic South West Coast Path and striking out along North Cornwall’s rugged coastline. Plan a trip to Tintagel, 8.5 miles away, to see the castle where the legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table are set. Clamber down to the beach to see the cave where the wizard Merlin is said to have lived.
Make your way up to the steps of the imposing house to the front door. Climb the stairs to the first floor of the building, then head along the corridor to your private quarters. Step inside to find yourselves in a beautiful, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with a bay window and glass doors opening onto a Juliet balcony. While away hours at a time, here taking in the incredible coastscapes. Open the French doors on summer days to bring in a sea breeze. Kick back and unwind on the natural fabric sofa to play a game, chat about your day or find a good film on the Smart TV. Find everything you need in the kitchen area to help you whip up tasty snacks and hearty meals. Gather round the table or pull a stool up to the breakfast bar to enjoy these. Gaze out at the changing light over the water as the sun goes down over the sea, before heading off for a superb night’s sleep in either of the two bedrooms, both of which have Smart TVs for lazy mornings in bed. The main bedroom has an en-suite shower room, while the bunk bedroom has bunks, with a child single above a double.
