Kipper Cottage

Kipper Cottage is a 3-bedroom fisherman's cottage on Dolphin Street in Port Isaac, close to the 14th-century harbour. The property sleeps 5 and is spread across multiple levels, typical of the village's tightly packed historic core.

The kitchen-diner is fully equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine. The sitting room has a woodburning stove for cooler months. The three bedrooms consist of a king-size with en-suite bathroom, a double, and a single room - all served by a family bathroom on the upper floor. WiFi is included.

Outside, the patio area catches the sun and has furniture for outdoor meals. Off-road parking is provided, and the enclosed garden gives some private outdoor space. Port Gaverne Beach, a sheltered cove with calm water, rock pools, and a traditional pub, is just 600m east along the coast path - about 10 minutes on foot. Tregardock Beach, a remote sandy beach with powerful surf, lies 3.4 miles further along the coast.

Port Isaac remains a working fishing village with around 700 permanent residents. The narrow streets, which served as the filming location for ITV's Doc Martin, are lined with independent shops, cafes, and restaurants - including Nathan Outlaw's Michelin-starred restaurant. The Fisherman's Friends perform sea shanties on the Platt in summer. Polzeath surf beach is 4 miles southwest.

Best for a group of up to five wanting a walkable base in Port Isaac's old town, with the garden and parking a bonus; less suited to dog owners, since dogs are not welcome, or to anyone needing single-level access, since the cottage spans multiple floors.
