West North Cottage

cottage in looe

Sleeps 3
2 bedrooms
1 bathroom

Outside the property is a lovely, cobbled courtyard.

This 200-year-old fisherman’s house is a classic example of Looe architecture, tucked away behind the modern-day West Looe fishing quay. Boat tours leave the harbour from near here to explore the marine and coastal wildlife, and these are highly recommended. Another boat trip worth taking just for fun is the 40p boat taxi that will ferry you across the river from West Looe to East Looe and the shopping and eating district – skip the bridge and travel in style! Further afield, the remarkable Eden Project is 24 miles west and for walkers, the Looe to Polperro coastal path offers 5 miles of spectacular scenery.

This delightful cottage retains many period features, with thick, whitewashed walls, slate flooring and exposed beams and stonework offering a true taste of history. Climb the two steps to enter the cottage. There’s an open-plan lounge/diner encompassing a comfortable sofa area, wood burner and dining table and chairs, and a neat galley kitchen. Also on this floor is a wet room with a shower and WC. From the living area, stairs lead up to the first floor where you’ll find a double bedroom, a single bedroom and a further WC.

Outside the property is a lovely, cobbled courtyard, filled with pot plants and shared with the four neighbouring properties – a tranquil and convivial space to sit out in the evening.
