East Looe Beach is immediately below - a wide, south-facing sandy beach that fills in summer but has enough length to find space. Hannafore Beach, on the western edge of town, is 900 metres away and faces the open sea. Plaidy Beach, quieter and rockier, is 1.3km for those who prefer fewer families with infants.

The fish market at the harbour operates early mornings, and the town's independent restaurants and pubs line the narrow streets of East Looe. West Looe is across the bridge - quieter, residential, with the South West Coast Path heading west toward Polperro. The Polperro walk is roughly 6km of clifftop path, one of the better day walks on the south coast.

Right for couples or a small group who want a town-centre base with the sea directly in front. Not great for those needing ground-floor access or a quiet rural setting. Saturday changeover, no pets.
