This superb retreat makes a luxurious base for large families or groups of friends of up to 14 seeking a blend of coastal adventure and rural tranquillity. Positioned inland on the fringes of the quaint hamlet of Tredrizzick, between Rock, 2 miles, and Polzeath, 2.5 miles, the property offers easy access to golden sands, water sports and the scenic coastal path. Spend days sunbathing, swimming, building sandcastles or exploring rock pools, and evenings trying out vibrant bars and excellent eateries. From Rock you can take a short ferry trip across to Padstow and wander the shops and seafood dining options, or you could drive to Wadebridge, 5 miles, and hire bikes to pedal along the traffic-free Camel Trail. Tee off at St Enodoc golf course, 2 miles, or head to the picturesque fishing village of Port Isaac for a taste of Cornish culture and yet more high-quality restaurants.

Hidden away at the end of a quiet lane, this idyllic gem is a double-fronted, detached house designed for both fuss-free practicality and blissful comfort. Step up and in through the front door, hang your coats in the cupboard, and explore the glorious interior, full of carefully curated furnishings and co-ordinated colours. The heart of the home is an expansive farmhouse-style kitchen, featuring slate flagstones, granite worktops, a Belfast sink and a six-oven Range cooker. This room flows into the dining area where there’s a huge table ideal for entertaining, positioned by the garden doors for verdant views. A handy utility room complements this space. Stroll through to the impressive lounge, with its statement wood burner and bar area with a fridge and wine fridge. This is the perfect place to gather for sociable evenings, perhaps listening to music on the Sonos Hi-Fi system or streaming movies on the Smart TV. Alternatively, you could set up a table tennis tournament. For quiet evenings in a more intimate setting, get cosy in the velvet sofas of the snug at the front of the house, which has a flame-effect gas fire for winter warmth and another Smart TV. One of the five bedrooms, a twin, is also on the ground floor, along with two separate shower rooms. The remaining four bedrooms are on the first floor, including a super-king-size room with an en-suite bathroom and a scenic private balcony. One of the two king-size bedrooms has an en-suite shower room, while the other shares an elegant family bathroom, with a spa bath and separate shower, with the second twin bedroom (an additional trundle bed can be requested at time of booking). For extra space, an annexe is also available (at an additional charge), which can sleep a further three people in a triple bedroom with a TV, kitchenette and en-suite shower room.

The house is surrounded by extensive grounds. Open the bi-fold doors from the lounge to discover the vine-covered pergola on the sun deck – a shaded spot for morning coffees, leisurely lunches or evening meals. Gather around the fire pit to toast marshmallows, play football on the lawn, set up a game of badminton or hop into the seven-seater hot tub for a soak in the fresh air. Children will delight in exploring the orchard, while adults can unwind on sun loungers or cook on the charcoal BBQs. The property also offers an outdoor heated shower and wetsuit-drying rack, ideal after long days in the waves. Private parking for five cars adds to the many benefits of this extraordinary property.
