Trekenna sits on the Helston road between Marazion and Praa Sands. Both beaches are a couple of miles by car - Marazion with views of St Michael's Mount, and Praa Sands with a broad sweep of sand and beachside cafes. Prussia Cove is closer, a sheltered rocky inlet with the coast path running above, and the sandy beach at Perranuthnoe sits nearby.

Penzance, about six miles west, has a rail station, supermarkets, and ferry and helicopter links to the Isles of Scilly via the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company.
