Praa Sands is a wide sandy beach on Cornwall’s south coast, between the towns of Helston and Penzance. It faces the open sea, and its exposed position brings bodyboarders and surfers looking for the waves it picks up.
There is plenty of room for beach games and walks along the shoreline. RNLI lifeguards patrol from early May to late September, and dogs are not allowed on the beach from 10am to 6pm in July and August.
Most amenities are on the western side: a shop, cafes including the Beachcomber, toilets and a pay and display car park.
