St Minver

Village connecting Rock, Polzeath, and the estuary beaches

St Minver is a village about a mile inland from Rock on the east side of the Camel Estuary. The parish of St Minver encompasses Rock, Polzeath, New Polzeath, Trebetherick, and Daymer Bay, making it the administrative centre for this popular stretch of north Cornwall coast. The village has a 12th-century church, a primary school, a village hall, and a shop.

The village sits at the junction of lanes leading to Rock (1 mile west), Polzeath (2 miles northwest), and Wadebridge (3 miles south), providing a practical base for visiting several beaches without committing to one. Holiday properties in St Minver tend to be set in quieter, more rural surroundings than those in Rock or Polzeath, often with gardens and parking - a contrast to the tighter streets of the coastal villages.

St Minver Highlands, the area north of the village, offers walking routes through farmland to Pentire Point and along the coast. The village is convenient for the Camel Trail (accessible from Wadebridge), Padstow via the Rock water taxi, and Port Isaac (about 8 miles north). Wadebridge has supermarkets, a cinema (the Regal), and a selection of independent shops and cafes along its high street.
