Trelights

Village a mile inland from Port Isaac on the north coast

Trelights is a small village about 1 mile east of Port Isaac, set slightly inland from the north Cornwall coast in the parish of St Endellion. It is one of the closest inland settlements to Port Isaac and provides holiday accommodation for visitors who want proximity to the harbour village without the parking difficulties of Port Isaac itself. The village is quiet with no pub or shop; Port Isaac’s pubs, restaurants, and working harbour are a short walk or drive away.

The coast path between Port Quin and Port Isaac passes along the cliff tops a mile or so north of the village, accessible via field paths. Port Quin, a small abandoned cove with a National Trust car park, is about 2 miles north-west. The Roscarrock Hill above Port Isaac, from which the village is visible, is a short walk from Trelights. St Endellion church - the parish church shared by several nearby settlements - is about a mile south.

Wadebridge is about 7 miles south and provides supermarkets and other services. Rock and Polzeath are about 5 miles south-west. Holiday cottages in Trelights are in demand as quieter alternatives to Port Isaac, which can get very busy in summer.
