A light-filled and breezy coastal retreat.

A light-filled and breezy coastal retreat, this gorgeous holiday home is perfect for families or groups of friends looking for seaside days followed by sea-view sundowners. Wander down the hill into the narrow, winding streets of Port Isaac (200 metres) and explore its harbour beach, independent shops and galleries, cute cafes and exceptional restaurants – not to mention the filming locations made famous by ‘Doc Martin’ and ‘Fisherman’s Friends’. For active days, there are water sports galore on offer in the area, from coasteering to kayaking and paddleboarding, and the golf club at St Enodock is just 9 miles away. Follow the coast path for 0.5 miles to reach sheltered Port Gaverne Beach, or head to Polzeath (6.5 miles) for great surfing waves. From Rock (8.5 miles), there’s a regular ferry across to Padstow (15.5 miles by car) with its excellent shops and eateries.

The epitome of coastal chic, this white clapboard house balances contemporary style with relaxed and practical living. Climb the stairs to the entrance and step inside, strolling through to the gorgeous lounge/diner. Flooded with natural light, this inviting space offers wonderful views across the garden and to the sea, with a wood burner for comforting warmth after a day in the fresh air. The long dining table provides a welcoming space for shared meals, while a Smart TV with DVD/Blu-ray invites you to set up a movie marathon as you settle into the generous seating. Making holiday practicalities easy, the kitchen is equipped with all mod cons, including a dishwasher, and there’s a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. The two twin bedrooms are on the ground floor, both with sliding glass doors to the wraparound deck. The Jack-and-Jill-style family bathroom on this level leads off the utility room and is also accessed as an en-suite from one of the twin bedrooms. Two dreamy king-size bedrooms encompass the entire first floor, both with en-suite shower rooms and ample storage

Outside, the rambling garden, set across several levels with steps, offers plenty of space for games on the lawn or quiet moments in one of the seating areas that take advantage of the sweeping views. Gather on the decked terrace, which offers stunning vistas over the village and to the sea – the perfect spot for relaxing in the sunshine or dining alfresco, making use of the BBQ or simply sipping a drink as the sun sets. Parking is easy, with space for three cars on hard standing by the house.
