Three-bedroom house in Polzeath, sleeps 6, dog-friendly, a short walk from Polzeath Beach.
Just moments from the golden sands, rolling surf and South West Coast Path, this seaside hideway boasts one of the most enviable locations within Polzeath. A fine choice for a break with family or friends, the village has a laid-back vibe and array of food and refreshment stops to suit every appetite. If you prefer a quieter beach scene, low tide presents an effortless connection to adjacent Baby Bay, and both are backed by the South West Coast Path which climbs to Pentire Point where you can enjoy spectacular views towards the Camel Estuary, while watching for seals and dolphins in the waters below. Follow the coast path in the opposite direction and you’ll reach upmarket Rock. Ride the ferry from here to Padstow which is famous as a foodie destination and home to a working harbour; children can haul crabs from the calm water while you watch all the action from a quayside inn or cafe.
A short lane leads from the seafront to the first of your two parking spaces – the other is at the rear of the building. Stroll across the sun deck and in through the back door, where the large utility and wet room to the right give the first hint that this is a holiday home designed very much with beach adventures in mind. Hang wetsuits and enjoy a hot shower, or make use of the handy cloakroom before moving on and into a light-filled open-plan social space with glazed window and doors to the front and a kitchen at the rear. Slate flooring complements the chic white cabinets that house all the essentials for fuss-free self-catering and the dining table is accentuated by colourful contemporary seating. A soft rug and selection of comfortable seating suggest companionable evenings in the lounge area where there’s a Smart TV with sound bar and SkyTV for home-style entertainment. A wood burner in one corner will add a warming glow in the cooler months. As your day draws to a close, three dreamy bedrooms beckon on the first floor. Two have a king-sized bed – one of them a zip-and-link which can be made up as twins on request – and offer an enticing glimpse of the Atlantic from their windows. Children will love the twin bedroom, which has its own large TV and PlayStation with two controllers. A stylish family bathroom provides relaxation and refreshment for all.
Steps from the main parking spot lead up to an elevated wooden sun deck that spans the front of the property and links effortlessly to the lounge area via large glass doors. Seasonal planting, outdoor furniture and a charcoal BBQ make this an inviting extension to your living space. Two outdoor showers provide the perfect place to rinse off sandy toes and paws, while a tap and hose take care of your surfboards, buckets and spades.
