Thimble Hall

Thimble Hall is a four-bedroom house in Latchley, a Tamar Valley village, sleeping eight guests. The rooms comprise a four-poster king size, a bunk room and two further king-size rooms, one of which converts to twin beds on request. Two bedrooms are en suite, there is a further family bathroom and a separate WC, which works for a full house.

A wood burner and open fire, Wi-Fi, parking, dishwasher, washing machine and garden are all included, and up to two dogs can stay. A games garage with a games table and eight acres of land add room to spread out. The ground floor holds the kitchen and dining area, a utility room and a WC. Granite stone steps lead up to the first-floor lounge, a few steps lead down to the snug, and an oak staircase leads up to the second floor.

The coast is a genuine drive from here: Downderry Beach is 13.5 miles away, Whitsand Bay 13.7 miles and Kingsand Beach 14.3 miles. Latchley sits within the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty instead, with Gunnislake and its medieval bridge around 2 miles away, and Tavistock and Dartmoor within easy reach across the Devon border. The Tamar Valley Discovery Trail and riverside footpaths make this more of a walking base than a beach one.

**Best for:** Families wanting four bedrooms, flexible beds, two fires, a garden, room for two dogs and a Tamar Valley walking base.

**Less good for:** Eight guests wanting a bathroom for every bedroom, or anyone prioritising beach access over inland scenery.
