Prawn on the Lawn is a small, lively seafood restaurant and fishmonger on Duke Street in Padstow. The format is sharing plates - oysters, ceviche, grilled fish, shellfish platters - with a daily-changing menu based on what the local fishermen land. Small plates run from around £4-£20, with larger fish dishes priced per kilogram. The wine list leans towards natural and low-intervention producers.
The fishmonger counter at the front sells fresh fish to take home. The space is limited, so booking via their online system (SevenRooms) is recommended - especially in summer. Tables of up to 6 can book online; groups of 7-8 by email. Card only, no Amex. They also have a sister restaurant in Islington, London, and the even smaller Little Prawn (20 seats) nearby.
