Birdie's Bistro – Lelant

Sitting on the edge of the RSPB nature reserve in Lelant, Hayle this is a good place for breakfast, lunch or an afternoon snack. The bistro is open seven days a week, typically from 9am, though closing times vary by day, so check its opening times page before you go. Dogs are welcome to dine with you, but there will be birds in the area, so hopefully yours reacts well to them. The chef has worked in places including Harrods and Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons. The menu features classic English dishes with a modern twist, such as bubble and squeak served with bacon, a poached egg and hollandaise.

The Bistro is well placed for views over the estuary, which changes depending on the tide. They also have holes in the fences at both adult and child heights to make sure that nature can be observed without being disturbed. Hayle is in the West of Cornwall and near places such as St Ives, if you are staying in that area and have an interest in birds and nature then this place is highly recommended.
