The Old Barn, Lelant

The Old Barn is a conversion in the village of Lelant, and it keeps exposed wooden beams, a feature Aga and a stable door. It sleeps seven over two floors, and St Ives is 2.5 miles away.

Downstairs are a kitchen/diner with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and coffee maker, a sitting room with sofas, armchairs, a TV and bookshelves, and a shower room. The washing machine and tumble dryer are also here. Upstairs are three double bedrooms and a single, and a family bathroom with a bath and separate shower. A cot and highchair are available.

Outside is a non-enclosed garden with a patio and furniture. Off-road parking takes one car only. The house is in a residential area, so the owners ask guests to be mindful of neighbours. A pub is a short stroll away and the shop a brief drive. Pets and smoking are not allowed, and groups over four need a minimum age of 25 unless children are with them.

It suits a family or friends taking all seven places; it is less good for a group of more than four adults under 25, or for anyone arriving with two cars. Lelant has a golf course overlooking the coast, estuary walks and Porth Kidney Sands, and the South West Coast Path runs through the village.
