Description

Splendidly Situated True Seaside Course with Fine Fairways and Natural Qualities

West Cornwall Golf Club, established in 1889, is the oldest golf course in Cornwall and one of the most scenic. Located in Lelant, near St. Ives, the course stretches across classic seaside links terrain with sweeping views over St. Ives Bay and the Hayle Estuary. It features firm fairways, natural dunes, and fast, undulating greens that offer an authentic and enjoyable links golf experience.

The layout is full of character, with quirky features such as intersecting fairways and a railway line that runs through the course—adding an element of fun and unpredictability. Standout holes include the 2nd, which plays through a dune corridor, and the famous “Triangle” stretch from holes 5 to 7, known for its unique positioning around a historic warehouse.

Off the course, the club offers a welcoming atmosphere with a well-equipped clubhouse, a restaurant and bar that features freshly made pizza, and full practice facilities, including putting and chipping greens. There’s a pro shop on-site, and coaching is available seasonally. With flexible green fees and a reputation for being friendly and inclusive, West Cornwall Golf Club offers a memorable golfing experience that combines history, links tradition, and spectacular Cornish views.
