Dates for Bodmin Riding & Heritage Festival 2027 have not been announced. The official website carries no announcement for the next edition, and the tradition usually falls on the first weekend in July.
The 2026 festival ran on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 July, with a Friday communal feast of local food, live music and Riding Ale followed by the main town-centre programme on Saturday. The Saturday procession was led by Bodmin Town Band and included local children performing the Furry Dance, alongside medieval dress, traders, historical re-enactments, family activity and the hunt for the Beast of Bodmin.
The festival’s official history says the custom was already established when first recorded in 1469. It connects the Riding with the return of St Petroc’s relics after they were taken to Brittany in 1177, while the modern festival also interprets later parts of Bodmin’s history.
