Bluebell

Set among the trees at Lost in the Woods Lodge, Bluebell is a single-storey woodland cabin for two on the edge of Bodmin Moor. The studio layout has one double bed and one bathroom, with a wood-burning stove for the colder months. An enclosed front deck holds a private hot tub and a barbecue, giving the cabin its own outdoor room rather than shared park grounds.

There is no television or Wi-Fi here, so this is a cabin for guests happy to switch off rather than stream in the evenings. Off-road parking is provided and one pet can join, with a dog limit of one. No dishwasher or washing machine is fitted, so this suits a short break rather than a week of self-catering with laundry needs. Changeover day is Friday.

Cardinham Woods, a 650-acre site of way-marked walking and mountain-bike trails, sits close by, and the National Trust's Lanhydrock estate is also within reach for a change of scene. Bodmin lies a few miles west, where the Camel Trail begins its traffic-free cycle route towards Padstow. For a coast day, Carlyon Bay is 9.6 miles away and Readymoney Cove 9.8 miles, both a proper drive rather than a stroll from the moor.

Reviewers have rated the stay 3 out of 5. **Best for:** a couple wanting woodland trails, a private hot tub and a screen-free break with the fire lit. **Less good for:** anyone wanting a beach nearby, laundry facilities, EV charging or step-free access.
