The Hayloft Dunmere

The Hayloft Dunmere is a one-bedroom stone cottage near Bodmin for two guests, with a king-size bedroom served by one bathroom. Colourful interiors, a slate floor and painted beams run through the rooms, giving the cottage a more contemporary feel than the stone exterior suggests.

A wood burner sits in the living space, and WiFi, parking, a dishwasher, washing machine and garden are all included, along with a BBQ for outdoor cooking. Up to two dogs can stay. Private fishing and countryside walks begin from the door, useful for guests without a car who still want somewhere to explore.

Port Gaverne Beach, a sheltered cove with calm, clear water for swimming and kayaking, is 8.6 miles away. Daymer Bay Beach is 9.6 miles from the cottage and Carlyon Bay, a long sandy beach with a golf course overlooking it, is 9.8 miles away - this is an inland rather than beachside base. The Camel Trail and the steam railway are both named as nearby draws.

**Best for:** two guests wanting a king-size bed, wood burner, private fishing and space for two dogs.

**Less good for:** beach walkers, EV drivers, or anyone needing step-free access to the cottage or fishing area.
