Readymoney Cove's sandy beach is 1.3km on foot through the town's narrow streets - a walkable distance for families with younger children. Lantic Bay, a quieter cove accessed via the South West Coast Path, is 2.2km. The harbour's waterfront, independent shops, and cafes are all within two minutes on foot. Bodinnick ferry, which connects Fowey to the eastern bank of the river and continues to Polruan, is a short walk away.
