Mugwell Barn

The drive down to Whitsand drops sharply on single-track roads - worth knowing before you set out. The Tamar Valley earned its World Heritage status for 19th-century copper and tin mining. Walking routes through the Tamar Valley pass old engine houses and wooded river reaches. Callington is a short drive for supermarkets and fuel.

Best for couples or solo visitors who want a quiet rural base within a half-hour drive of south coast beaches. Less good for those relying on public transport - Luckett has no regular bus service - or anyone wanting sea views from the property.
