Number Seven

Number Seven is a one-bedroom apartment at Watergate Bay, set on the quieter side of the bay away from the restaurants and the main cluster of holiday lets. The beach is about 400 metres downhill.

The bedroom has a king bed with an en-suite bathroom and a wall-mounted TV. The lounge and dining area open onto a balcony with table and chairs, and a sofa bed there takes the occupancy to four. Be clear on what the balcony looks at: it faces inland over the hills, not the sea. Below it is a small car park, and one dedicated space comes with the apartment.

The kitchen has an oven, hob, dishwasher and a fridge with a small freezer compartment, plus a Nespresso machine and a NutriBullet. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate are provided. The digital TV supports streaming from your own accounts.

Watergate Bay itself is a two-mile stretch of sand used by surfers and swimmers year round, with the South West Coast Path crossing it. Whipsiderry Beach is 1.3 miles south towards Porth. The apartment holds a 9.0 rating from 39 reviews.

Best for a couple, or a couple with two children using the sofa bed, who want a walkable beach and parking included. Less good for anyone who wants a sea view, for larger groups, or for guests who need a second bathroom - the single en-suite serves everyone.
