Pen Chy

Pen Chy is a reverse-level 2-bedroom cottage on Penrose Hill, on the edge of Porthleven, sleeping 4 with 2 bathrooms. The inverted layout puts the kitchen and sitting room upstairs, giving the living space views over the harbour and surrounding coastline that a ground-floor arrangement would miss entirely.

Dogs are welcome here - one of the few Porthleven cottages that allows them. The open fire keeps the sitting room warm through autumn and winter. Wifi, parking, dishwasher, washing machine, and an enclosed garden are all included. Both bathrooms serve the 2 bedrooms, a practical arrangement for a family or two couples.

Porthleven Beach is 900 metres down the hill - under 15 minutes on foot. The working harbour has several restaurants along the quay, including Rick Stein's which opened in 2021. Penrose estate, owned by the National Trust, starts at the southern edge of the village and leads to Loe Bar, a freshwater lake separated from the sea by a shingle bank. Gunwalloe Church Cove is 3.5 miles along the coast path.

Best for dog owners or couples wanting two bathrooms and a harbour view without being directly on the seafront. Less good for groups needing more than 4 beds or anyone looking for a hot tub.
