The Wrens

The Wrens sits in the centre of Polzeath village, a four-bedroom, three-bathroom house that sleeps 8 across two floors. The open-plan kitchen and living area has a curved island unit and a large corner sofa, with bi-fold doors opening onto a tiered rear garden with sea glimpses over the bay. A BBQ and outdoor dining set are already set up for summer use, and the garden is fully enclosed.

Polzeath Beach is 700m down Shilla Lane - a long north-facing break that draws intermediate surfers and has a surf school operating from the beach. It also works for families with young children during calmer summer swells. Greenaway Beach is 1.1km, quieter and sheltered, suited to rock pooling at low tide. Daymer Bay, another sheltered option popular with paddleboarders, is 1.5km away.

The property has step-free access on the ground floor, making it suitable for guests with mobility requirements. Parking for at least one car is included off the road, which matters in Polzeath where summer street parking fills by mid-morning. WiFi and dishwasher included. Changeovers are Saturday.

Best for groups of up to 8 wanting a base within walking distance of Polzeath's surf and village amenities. Less good for those needing a hot tub or sea-view balcony.
