Tredarn

Tredarn is a four-bedroom dog-friendly cottage in Connor Downs, a village in west Cornwall two miles east of Hayle. The cottage sleeps eight across four bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom - a practical layout for larger families or two households sharing. A hot tub sits in the enclosed garden, and the dishwasher, washing machine, and off-road parking cover the main practical requirements.

The interior is built around a full set of en-suite rooms, removing the morning queuing problem for larger groups. Wi-Fi is included, and the Saturday changeover fits the standard weekly rhythm.

The beaches of St Ives Bay are the main draw for guests staying at Connor Downs. Gwithian Towans - a dune-backed stretch of sand at the western end of the bay, with surf hire and lifeguards in summer - is 1.7 miles. Godrevy Beach is 2.4 miles, with views to Godrevy Lighthouse from the sand. St Ives town centre, with its galleries, independent restaurants, and harbour, is roughly 5 miles along the coast road. The A30 is close, making Truro and Penzance straightforward day trips.

Best for: larger groups wanting a hot tub and beach access near St Ives, with dogs. Less good for: guests wanting a coastal or harbourside setting (Connor Downs is an inland village).
